(NASCAR lowered the Age Limit for Grand National from 18 to 16 prior to this season.) He has won 3 of 4 Grand National races in his career so far.
“I got a good start. We went down into turn one and I said, ‘Here we go, checker or wrecker.’” JL
Harvick said he was running on 7 cylinders. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to say after being schooled by a 16 year old? Harvick said, “He makes you feel old in a heartbeat. You wouldn’t know he was 16 the way he raced me.”
Logano won his debut races in Grand National East (4-28-07 Greenville-Pickens, SC) and West (Phoenix 4-19-07) this year. At 16 he became the youngest Busch East winner. (Martin Truex Jr. was the previous youngest at 20.) Logano is also the youngest West winner. (Chuck Bown at 21 was the previous youngest.)
“I go to every race expecting to win…no matter what I’m driving. I’m real competitive. If I don’t run up front, I don’t want to be there.”
Logano prepared for his Phoenix race by playing the NASCAR 2003 video game.
He said he might run a few Whelen Modified races this year.
His goal is to win the Grand National East Championship this year.
