Featured Interview - Marcus Smith (President & General Manager, Lowe’s Motor Speedway/President & Chief Operating Officer, Speedway Motorsports, Inc.)

Marcus Smith, President and General Manager of Lowe’s Motor Speedway, will join Dave Despain in the studio as featured guest this Sunday September 7th. When H.A. ‘Humpy’ Wheeler retired after this year’s Coca-Cola 600 in May, Marcus was named as his replacement. In addition to his duties at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, he is also the President and Chief Operating Officer of the speedway’s parent company, Speedway Motorsports, Inc.

Lowe’s Motor Speedway and its ZMax Dragway are set to host its first NHRA event next week at the state-of-the-art facility. This will also mark the first of six races in NHRA’s championship run known as, Countdown to 1. Then a month later, the Sprint CUP stars will make their way to LMS where the track will host the fifth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint CUP.

We’ll talk to Marcus about his new responsibilities and the busy month ahead.
