Some of this week’s storylines:
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series –The final race of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season and Championship leader Jimmie Johnson has a 108-point over teammate Mark Martin. Essentially, a finish of 25th or better or a finish of 10th or worse by Martin will give Johnson an unprecedented fourth consecutive title. But, don’t give Jimmie the title just yet… this championship isn’t over until the checkered flag waves.
TSR will check in from Homestead with Bob Dillner for all the latest post race reaction and analysis. And, TSR will look at just how this Championship stacks up historically. Whether it’s Jimmie, or Mark, Hendrick Motorsports will take the crown.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series – Ron Hornaday may have clinched the title last week… but, a lot still remains on the line. Kyle Busch would like nothing better than to steal the owners title for his team, Billy Ballew Motorsports. But, defending and two time winner at Homestead Miami Speedway, Todd Bodine could play spoiler in the outcome. The Truck Series crew will check in with TSR and break down how it all shakes out.
NASCAR Nationwide Series – Once again… Kyle Busch is the big storyline… he’s dominated the season, leading the standing for 28 straight weeks, and will clinch the championship in Homestead by virtue of just starting the race… but, Kyle again is running the “triple” and would like nothing more than another win.
Meanwhile, in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie-of-the-Year points battle, Justin Allgaier leads the standings by eight points over Brendan Gaughan. How will their weekend performance influence the Rookie of the Year voting panel? The SPEED report will examine all the storylines, and have post race reaction.
SKUSA - Karters, including some very big names in the world of racing, take over Las Vegas for SuperKarts XIII… Seven Time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher is expected to take part in a weekend of racing at the RIO Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas… How will a handful of current F1 and IndyCar drivers shape up against the great and each other? TSR’s Robin Miller will be on hand to cover the action and get reaction from drivers on hand.
FIA Formula One World Championship – Big news out of Formula One this week on many fronts… A new team for the latest world champion, a big change for the world championship winning team, and where a former series titlist may wind up… SPEED F1 commentator, and TSR host Bob Varsha will set the record straight on all the changes that have taken place this week.
Plus, TSR looks at the 2009 NHRA Champions… and the American Sprint Car Series wraps up it’s season with the 42nd Annual Kronik Energy Western World Championships in Tucson.
