  • Acura: Advance to Victory
  • Program Avatar
  • It’s been said that to fully develop a racing program, it takes three seasons. In the first, you learn what not to do. In the second, you learn what works. In the third, you apply that learning to compete consistently on the highest level.

After a stunning debut in which it won the 2007 12 Hours of Sebring, only to lose the season championship to Porsche, the Acura prototype program is starting its second season. With all three of the 2007 Acura teams using the newly engineered Acura ARX-01B chassis and engine, Andretti-Green Racing, Lowe’s Fernandez Racing, and Patron Highcroft Racing carry their best chances for success into the season opener at Sebring on March 15th.

Exciting news of a 4th Acura team was announced in January, with Indy 500 winner Gil de Ferran set to join the American Le Mans Series soon after the opening rounds to pilot a de Ferran Motorsports Acura ARX-01B of his own.

Some auto manufacturers race for glory, while others like Acura race to learn. It’s in their DNA. Acura’s focus on improving the quality of their products and the knowledge of their engineers can be found within every layer of the Honda Performance Development (HPD) program.

In ‘Acura: Advancing to Victory’ the inside story of a manufacturer focusing its full might on re-capturing the glory of Sebring 2007 and using those lessons learned to earn a championship in 2008 is told.

Maintaining their position isn’t good enough for Acura; the only thing they’ll accept is to ‘Advance to Victory.’
