Wendy Venturini: You guys bring money to the table, invest that money, improve the company and in the end petty enterprises will be worth more. In comparison to real estate would that be like flipping a house?

David Zucker: It is not flipping a house, it is building a house. The house has been here, it is 60 years. These guys, I mean, how many NASCAR teams have been around for 60 years? The petty organization is the winningest race organization in all of NASCAR. It is a great house, foundation, good values, and good people. The right kind of phantom partner, which I think Boston Ventures is, can help make the house stronger, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.

Wendy Venturini: How tough of a decision was it for you personally?

Richard Petty: Well, I think the toughest decision I made was the move out of level cross because we had been there for 60 years. Once I got over that shock then the next deal was the next focal point.

Announcer: Will the move at Petty Enterprises pay off? As a fan, you have to want to see the name back in victory lane. Maybe this is just what the doctor ordered.

Wendy Venturini: In taking on investors, is this a golden ticket to get Petty Enterprises back to victory lane?

Richard Petty: I guess everybody is looking at that. You know I mean it is kind of the deal that if you come in here and dropped 100 million we’re not going to be successful overnight. I look at Petty Enterprises like I look at the Yankees or look at Green Bay. They have been up, they have been down, they have been up, they have been
down, and this is going to give us a chance to go up again.

David Zucker: I agree, I’m a Cubs fan, so you can turn things around with the right people and decisions, and the right investments. I think it certainly can be done, we can do it, you know it is going to take a lot of hard work.

Wendy Venturini: Now your new title is Chairman Emeritus, how will your role change, what does that mean for you?

Richard Petty: It will not change, that was one good thing working with these guys, you have people put in CEOs, CFOs and CMOs, or whatever, all the people that run the show, but it still has my name on it, and it as long as it has my name on it, and I am here, then I’m going to have a lot of influence on it.

Wendy Venturini: Well there is a little more insight to Boston Ventures and petty enterprises, call it a merger, call it a buyout, call it an investment, call it whatever you want, the bottom line is it is mean't to bring more money to the company so they can improve their performance and it is starting to show, of course, Bobby Labonte on the outside front row for the New Hampshire race.
