Kyle Petty "Nobody will remember how she won it, but it will be a huge day for Motorsports in general, and when i say that, i think this is good for NASCAR i think this is good for open wheel. I think this is good for drag racing i think it is good for your short track. I think it is great for Motorsports in general to have somebody like her win a race.
John Roberts "That brings up the question now. Does it put NASCAR behind the diversity eight-ball a little bit to have the first woman driver that’s being successful in winning in another discipline?"
Jenna Fryer "This came up when she did so well in her first Indy 500, it is a such hard sport and it is so expensive and you just don’t, i have a daughter if she wanted to race, I don't know if I could get her in a car and to do the things you have to do. You have to do it with Adam. You start them early that is an expensive, expensive, expensive sport. For little girls to be committed, hats off to Danica Patrick and her parents they made a commitment to it they were devoted to it, and I bet they mortgaged a lot just as themselves just as Denny Hamlin’s family did just to get him to this point. It is so very hard to take a little girl at 5, 6, 7 or 8 years old and say I’m going to spend a million to get her to NASCAR. Is NASCAR behind? That’s the same thing in terms of race it is just a hard sport to get involved in.
Kyle Petty "We can talk this until we’re blue in the face because we can legislate diversity if that’s what we want to do, if that’s what you want to do, let's legislate diversity into the sport, or into any form of Motorsports, but you cannot, you cannot buy it, you cannot legislate talent. It takes talent once you get here, to stay here. She came out when she came out, she jumped into an open wheel car, and she was competitive right off the bat. She was not winning but she was competitive. She led. She ran up front. She was with a top team; she was in a good car. Do not take that away from her that’s tough. I’m not a real big Danica fan, let me be clear here, but I will give anyone credit who goes out and kicks your rear end on a Sunday afternoon. I think the fuel mileage thing shows once again how much a team sport this is.
John Roberts "Anybody that can win in any type of motor sport has done their job. Along the lines of what Jenna said, it is like our buddy Felix Sabates said, if you want to make a small fortune in racing, start with a big one.
