Kyle Petty and host John Roberts along with special guest Washington Post Writer Liz Clark at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, Virginia

John Roberts "To start off, we want to go back to Talladega where it is not easy to be alone on the racetrack. Especially if you think your teammates hung you out to dry. Let's listen to what Jeff Gordon had to say on his radio during the race."

Jeff Gordon "I go with him, I go with him, I go with him, the only times I couldn't go with him is when there is no way in hell. And he screwed me the second he could. What the hell, we are 25 to go, if he isn't going to work with me now he isn't going to work with me ever."

Dale Earnhardt Jr. "Jeff was raising a little hell there, but he should have went with the 12 who he was pushing there to keep the run we had there going. And that is six, he got behind it. They were going to get by me and he would have gained a spot there"

John Roberts "Now, in the heat of competition, anyone could say pretty much anything. Now Liz do you read anything more in the exchange on the radio other hey, than this is racing at Talladega and tempers do fly."

Liz Clark (Washington Post) "I don't, I don't see anything long, simmering, any animosity or resentment, I just think it is great. I love it that Jeff is upset. That junior is frustrated. We all know junior runs an odd line. He is always up against the wall. I don't think it is his job to help Jeff
or Jeff's job to help junior. It would be a pretty sad sport if people didn't lose their temper, god bless them."

Kyle Petty "This is not a team sport. I think you have to keep that in mind. This is not a team sport. I don't care how upset Jeff was. Maybe jimmy will go anywhere with Jeff, and Junior is not going to go anywhere with Jeff. We see it all the time. We saw it at Daytona after the race, we saw Jeff Burton and Clint bowyer snatch each other around. They were supposedly teammates but, one went for his cause which was the Clint bowyer cause, and one went for the Jeff Burton cause. Same thing here, Jeff is absolutely correct, if junior didn't go with him with twenty five laps to go, he is never going to go with him because there is no money at the 25 to go lap. At the end of the race, that's the time to go. You can't find your team mates, you can't always pick and choose and like Junior said, and you heard it right there, the 12 car had a run, we had to slow up. He should have gone with the 12 car and kept up the momentum. That is all Talladega is, a momentum racetrack."

Liz Clark (Washington Post) "I think it is a great feature of NASCAR, that fan it is can listen in on that. How great would the NFL be if you could listen in every time a quarterback says, he didn't run the route! You know it happens all the time. Or, he missed the block, and that is great."

Kyle Petty "We need a microphone inside the huddle when they are cussing each other like that."
