For those who plan to make the most of twisty tarmac roads, the BMW R 1200 R comes highly recommended. With 109 hp, the classically styled naked roadster is one of the most underrated bikes in the current line-up, with great road-holding, handling and superb torque. A high level of demand is also expected for the BMW R 1200 GS, which will take riders to just about anywhere in Portugal – on or off-road. Riders who want to hire either of these two bikes must be at least 30-years-old and have held a full motorcycle licence for at least three years.

Prices range from just €68 ($107) per day for rentals of seven days or more in Portugal (based on the BMW G 650 Xcountry). All rates include 186 miles per day, Governmental Tax (VAT), Limited Public Liability Cover, Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), full maintenance of the vehicle, road maps, helmet protection and 24-hour road assistance. In Spain, the fleet includes the BMW F 650 GS, the R 1200 GS and the R 1200 RT, with the same conditions as for Portuguese rental. Prices start from just €52 ($82) per day for rentals of seven days or more (based on the BMW F 650 GS), with all rates including 186 miles per day, VAT, partial Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection.
