“It was fairly dusty in the military area where the race was – these are the only kind of places we are allowed to ride off-road these days! As well as forest sections, the track included grass fields, paddocks and dirt roads. The G 450 X was good on fuel consumption. At the moment the series production fuel tank holds 2.2 gallons, which allows me to ride at full speed for about one hour and 15 minutes. A ‘weekend rider’ would get around two hours of riding from this amount. We’re waiting for a special Cross Country fuel tank which will allow us to ride for an entire three-hour race with just one fuel stop.”
At the end of the 12 hours, Anders and his team won the race by almost an entire 11 mile lap, showing not only the great skill of his Tibro MK team-mates, but also the fact that Anders is really starting to enjoy riding the G 450 X. The ongoing development of this sport enduro is important
“I’m loving my role within the BMW Motorrad Motorsport factory team,” he said. “It’s a very different experience for me, but incredibly interesting and I’m very motivated and excited to play my part in this new project. The BMW team is like a big family and we’re learning more every day. I have lots of experience in the enduro world and it’s great to be able to give something back in this way. Long may it continue!”
