The Lites class has proven to be much less predictable. Well, at least the fact that it's unpredictable is predictable, as most knew coming into the season that the Lites West could turn into a bit of a toss-up. Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey has gone 1-2 in the first two races, and has a nine-point lead over Boost Mobile/Yamaha of Troy's Jason Lawrence with six rounds left to run.
However, round two's win went to Torco Racing
Fuels Honda's Jake Weimer. Typical of the lack of predictability in the class, Weimer was racing at round two in Phoenix with an injured shoulder suffered at Anaheim I, where he failed to make the main event. Yet, only a week later, he not only makes the main, but wins it, while fighting off round-one winner Dungey.
Saturday night at Anaheim II, the Lites winner, unlike the 450cc winner, is anyone's guess.
But that's why they run the races.
