Jake Holden, Corona Honda, 1st Place

“That new ’08 CBR1000, that thing made it so much easier to ride around this track. It flips side-to-side good and we really haven’t had a lot of time on the bike yet. We’re going to be getting more testing time on it and hopefully get it figured out a little bit better and maybe get up here in winner’s circle more often.”

(Asked if it felt like his first win even though it’s actually his second because the first was taken after a red flag stopped the race prematurely):

“Yeah, I would say so. That’s why I gave a good, ‘Rock ‘n Roll!’ up there on the podium. And Aaron didn’t make it easy for me either. I though he was going to make it stick there at the end.”

Aaron Yates, Jordan Suzuki, 2nd Place

“The race didn’t really go how I was hoping for. We’d been fast all weekend and was I thought we had something on these guys but come raceday, I don’t know, it just didn’t work how it had been. We just couldn’t get it going. We were sliding all over the place and these other guys were a little better dialed in I guess.

“Jake was going good. He’s
riding good and he deserves to win. I can’t take anything away from him. He’s going good and I knew he was going to be strong here. He usually is and this is a place I usually kind of struggle at but it worked out all right. We got second place and got some decent points.”

Blake Young, Team M4 EMGO Suzuki, 3rd Place

“We got off to a pretty good start. Pietri was running out front and he was running a pace that I was comfortable running but I knew the boys were going to turn it up there pretty quick but I didn’t know when. So I tried to conserve my tires the best that I could. When Jake came by me I knew he put the charge on there after the halfway point and I wanted to go with him and try to get away from Pietri and Aaron.

“We made a mistake in the back section and ended up going off. I kind of checked up and let everybody by and made sure that I wasn’t docked or anything. I got back on course and really from there, I decided whatever tires I had left, I was going to use it up and ride as hard as I possibly could.

“We ended up with third today. My guys worked really hard for me this weekend so I’d like to thank them. This is a hard track for the Pirelli guys so I think to get on the box for them is great.”
