Hodgson Continues to Set American Superbike Pace
Former World and British Superbike champ Neil Hodgson again headed the charts during the AMA American Superbike practice session on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.
The American Honda ace improved slightly from yesterday's best, posting a 1:38.535 compared with his Friday mark of 1:38.626. Again, the Briton was considerably quicker than the rest of the Superbike pilots in Florida this December, lapping well over a second quicker than any other rider around the short course at DIS.
Yamaha USA's Ben Bostrom found some big improvements late to cut more than a second off his Friday time to end the day ranked second at 1:39.893 on his very stock R1, just fractionally ahead of Larry Pegram and
his similarly stock LeoVince Foremost Insurance Ducati 1098R (1:40.060).
Bostrom's teammate, Josh Hayes, was next, followed by Team M4 EMGO Suzuki's Chris Ulrich and Buell's and Honda's test riders, Jeremy McWilliams and Doug Toland, respectively.
The American Superbikes will have one final four-hour session on Sunday to conclude this year's Daytona tire test.
