Short was again third, followed by Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Michael Byrne, Cooper, Hill, MDK KTM’s Nick Wey and privateer Honda rider Jimmy Albertson.
“I’m still not thinking about (sweeping the entire series),” Stewart said. “When I won at Glen Helen, I wasn’t thinking about sweeping the series at round two, so I’m not thinking about it now, either.
Next weekend is Unadilla -- a track that Stewart has suffered horrible bad luck at lately.
“I don’t know what to think about it,” Stewart said. “I just have to go out there and be careful and do my job and not let it affect me.”
Stewart now leads in the championship chase by 105 points over teammate Ferry, 350-245.
