Malsher became editor of RACER in February 2008. His journalism career started with Autosport Special Projects in the UK, editing raceday programmes for Formula 1 and British Touring Car events, before moving to another company to do much the same for four more years. He then joined Motor Sport magazine as Managing Editor, before switching to Autosport, where he eventually became Champ Car correspondent and US Editor.
Since following open-wheel racing from the age of 10, Michele Alboreto, Keke Rosberg, Michael Andretti and Al Unser Jr have been his personal heroes in the sport, while Mario Andretti, Stirling Moss and Dan Gurney have become his demi-gods. However, having been brought up to believe that Jim Clark was the greatest driver ever, he’s seen little evidence to suggest this was not the case. One of his unfulfilled ambitions is to drive a 396c.i. 1969 Chevy Camaro from L.A. to New York, before flying home again in an F-111.
