Well, Brendan Gaughan has a new team of South Point Racing and a new manufacturer switching from Dodge to Chevy. He will also do the SCORE Desert Series. He's going to follow Robby Gordon's route of doing Nascar and Off-Road Racing.

It's the same team ... Just a different manufacturer ...
They changed the team name because they have a different hotel/casino now ...
According to Jayski & South Point PR ...
"The Silverado is not the only change Gaughan will take to Daytona as the name of his race team will change from Orleans Racing to South Point Racing --- a move that reflects the family's realignment in the Las Vegas gaming industry. With the name change the official web site for Gaughan's racing endeavors will also change, from orleansracing.com to southpointracing.com."
Note there is a "Silverado Steakhouse" at the new casino ...

In fact, when he races CTS in Milwaukee in the summer, the fans of his from Northern Wisconsin where he used to race try to convince him to go back for a race. He has (or had) a standing invitation that if he showed up a truck would be provided for him to race.

When he raced in the CORR series 1998, 1999 he ran a Pro-2 Silverado and Winston West in 2000, 2001 he ran a Monte Carlo.

That's cool to hear that he's welcome to race again there. His two wins at Crandon more or less solidified his reputation as a premier off-road racer. I don't even think Jimmie Johnson got a win there, although he had more total wins then Brendan.

Gaughan never seemed to be Cup material. Let's see how he does this season.
