Valencia times, Worth noting that Moto2 bike did not have the spec engine available and were said to be down on HP to what they will be running. How much?

And maybe the Pirellis are better than the Dunlops.

It is impossible to judge anything now. They are running various specs of engine. Some are running stock fuel, others race fuel, some are running non spec tires. It is a worhtless test if you want to see where everyone stands. Basically because Honda effed up with providing a reliable strong engine on time.

There were problems with the rear Dunlop, and the track was very cold, along with the lower spec motor and unsorted chassis.

One thing I grabbed of the motomatter site from a while ago:
...the announcement from ..the FIM / Dorna committee.. was light on detail, saying only that Honda "offers high level performance engine," and that "the horse power will be over 150."
So if they are now testing with CBR engines that are only 120bhp, of course they suffer.
"We expect to be ready in October," Nakamoto said, "and the engines will be prepared by Honda R&D;, as HRC doesn't have the capacity to produce them.
It is now december and the engines are not ready..... Only in march will they supply the engines, 4 months late. Honda effed up. But I guess it is too late to cancel the Honda contract now.
the teams are expected so receive CAD drawings which they can use to start designing a chassis around within the next few weeks.
And that is how they now how to fit a CBR engine it the chassis which is ready for the race engine.

Moto2 bikes will be made faster than stock 600s. They will make sure of that.

I'm sure they have a lot of work ahead of them - these aren't huge factories and there is a lot to sorting out a chassis.

Its still early. Most of these teams are just getting sorted and used to the chassis and motor combinations. Once they get that down the bikes will be a lot faster. And if the are really only testing the bikes with stock CBR engines and not the 150hp race engines they are using, that there is a 30 hp performance difference already.

Major screw-up on Honda's part. It is almost the new year, giving these teams an ever-diminishing window of time to get the frames sorted. There is a huge difference between a frame and set-up that works for 120 hp and one that works for 150+.

I was thinking the same thing. They will get it figured out and eventually it will work and be faster but it won't be an automatic thing.
