One of the reasons given for increasing the points paying positions was the increase in the number of cars on the grid. From my perspective the increase in the number of teams cries out for the return of the 107% rule in qualifying, not for throwing around points like they were confetti. All these rolling chicanes (and there will be many) should be left in the garage and hopefully encouraged to leave the series to more capable teams.

If the prize money in a season wasn't directly related to the number of points scored I would say LEAVE THE POINTS ALONE
However with the current scoring system it is likely that 4 teams will score 0 in 2010.
Fix the payout scheme, not the points. Fans don't want to be sitting at home with a calculator to determine what the standings are, and winning should always be the determinate factor in deciding the championship.

I don't think they are talking about giving more drivers trophies.
I'm with you though. 1 point for the winner, 0 for everyone else!
