In case you hadn't noticed, the other female racers in the feeder series can't get sponsorship to compete in more than a few races. They can't get sponsorship, they can't get seat time. End of story.

But I guess if you are willing to pose for a magazine or two, things happen. The stereotype continues. Nothing Diverse about that.

they don't have 2 TOP 5's @ Indy... dues were paid...
if you think the swimsuit shoots mean more than 2 top 5's in the country's most prestigious race (YES, still moreso than Daytona), you're kidding yourself... they (the photo-shoots) opened doors, her driving let her walk through them...
I guess I can group you with Lovey as talent scout wannabes that know more than Chip or Michael... I thought you'd have a better reason, SOK...

You are kidding, right? She was kept around because she was a cash cow to a dying sport.She wasnt a cash cow because of her performance,it was gender and the fact that she was somewhat pretty,unlike the other female drivers. Sarah Fisher is a better driver in my opinion, just never had the equipment that Danica's good looks afforded her.Finishing a few races in the top 2-3 with pit strategy and some luck and winning 1 race the same way doesnt mean you are a great race car driver.Danica is an average driver who finishes 6-10th every race because she doesnt take chances and waits for her final spot thru attrition.I doubt there is any driver in the top 10 who loses as many posistions during the course of the race compared to where she qualifies. If she gets in a wheel to wheel battle,she almost always is the one who concedes and lives to finish.She finished 5th i believe in points but is nowhere near the 5th fastest,she just takes no chances and tries to finish. That and some good looks obviously will make you a multi millionaire in todays warped society.

sorry... when Sarah was crashing all of Derrick Walker's cars, they were good cars... just as good as Rahal's...
her photo shoots opened doors... if she couldn't drive, those doors would've been well slammed after her 5 years now...
5 years is not a gimmick...

If your going to have that Attitude towards her. Then you better have the Same one towards Jimmy Jeff Kyle and alot of the Other Drivers in Nascar then. 50% of them anymore have gotten a Top tier ride why they have the sponsor that will back them up.

Cash talks in this sport regardless of how good of a driver you are.

Can't wait to see her fans' reaction to Krashalotski's unique overtaking techniques. That will be sweet

Its not that she is unattractive,we just dont have the image of her a%% crack emblazoned in our memory,. Motorola and Andretti keep her around because of money. If you think its for any other reason,your kidding yourself.Putting money aside,if a team owner had to pick a driver on nothing but ability to run up front,she wouldnt be in the top 10. I am not saying she doesnt belong,she is an average driver in a field of average drivers excluding the top 2-3.What i am saying is she got to where she is because of marketing ability,not driving ability.

Chip and Hull have not hired her. As for Andretti, I DO think I know more about ability than he does, as I wouldn't have let either of his CHAMPIONSHIP and INDY 500 winning drivers go to keep Marco, Danica and/or Mutoh around.

So, Ms. Stomp is coming to NNS. Worst kept secret since Kyle Busch forming a truck team. Great for NASCAR. The media attention, the added revenue, more butts in the seats. A winning combo right?

What about all of the other women trying to break into the upper echelon of NASCAR? This just set all of their careers backwards. May have even killed their hopes of ever having an opportunity to make it into the big show.

And talk about re-enforcing stereotypes! Will the ladies in waiting now have to pose bikini clad on a beach for a magazine in order to attract sponsorship dollars?

I'm curious, the ladies of this board haven't really commented.

Danica Patrick only had one thing when she started racing, her talent and her looks. She hasn't done a thing to hurt either one. She is deserving of anything she gets, in other words,she EARNED it.

If Danica is successful it will OPEN doors for women in NASCAR, not close them.

Throwing tantrums and posing nearly naked for magazines and in advertisements... yup she is a great role model for the ladies of tomorrow

Seems like lots of folks are ignoring all the photo spreads of Carl Edwards without his clothes on. I guess it only matter when you have boobs...

doesn't matter if they didn't hire her... they both said they would've if sponsorship could be attained... both said she had the necessary talent... it's been proven for 5 years now... it's not a novelty act...perhaps AA costs less to sponsor than TCG... TCG is the best on the grid right now, so obviously it costs more to paint their car... as for AA, what 2 drivers??? Dario left for a different challenge (and NASCAR money), and wheldon went to a faster car (and more money)... neither were ejected for marco or danica...
and you still haven't said why she beat TK so badly this year... what excuse is that going to be??
