I know it's only been a week since the last race of any type this season but I need to watch something other than 10 minute racing snaps we get from youtube. Is there a site on the net where I can watch a full race? Any type of racing will do; vintage racing, motorcycle or auto. Pay to watch of free it doesn't matter.

This group has a lot of old complete IMSA race broadcasts(and by complete, I mean COMPLETE. As in they didn't bother to remove the commercials!), plus some other little tidbits. The group is mostly focused on IMSA GTP and Group C, but it's still great stuff. Just don't expect mindblowing quality.

On Youtube we have this bad boy: http://www.youtube.com/user/racingfan99 who's got a lot of great stuff both recent and old from Grand-Am, CART/Champ Car, IMSA, and some other stuff.

More great CART stuff here: http://www.youtube.com/user/champcar4ever

I used to have a couple of others - one who had a lot of stuff including touring cars, NASCAR, Formula 3, Superleague Formula... However, I lost the username and some vids I know were posted by him have disappeared. The other guy has been suspended, probably having something to do with the fact that he had posted COMPLETE RACE BROADCASTS of the last two 24 Horus of Le Mans and 12 Hours of Sebring - split into several pieces, obviously.

Anyway, hope this will hold you over until next season. It'll certainly be keeping ME ocupied!

Oh, my, almost forgot! How about some old Can-Am coverage?

I don't trust justin.tv. Earlier this year TGWTG.com did a live donation drive through them and somehow managed to crash their servers. raspberry HAd to switch over the Ustream.

Wow thanks guys for all the useful info. While I was sulking yesterday, I found a terrific recent Le Mans documentary called "Truth in 24". There are 2 great things about this video. One, it is a very compelling take on Le Mans; the race, the cars and two, it's a free iTunes video. check out the link, you will not be disappointed.

Just go to the downloads section of the site and it will link you to the itunes free download in HD or regular.

Ah, yes. Truth in 24 - without a doubt the best racing documentary I've ever seen.

For those of you who refuse to touch iTunes, you can also order it on DVD for a mere $8. the link is on the website.

bittorent is your friend. the best f1 coverage is on there using the bbc COMMERCIAL FREE broadcast. I discovered it this year and it KILLS speeds fake live studio crap. its great that speed at least shows f1 but until you have experienced bbc coverage you might as well never have seen f1 at all.

A little word of caution about OneofOne's recommendation: We all know FOM is very anal about protecting F1, to the point where they frequently go after even the smallest snippets posted online, but what's less well-known is that the BBC is quite protective of their programming as well. F1 broadcasts through the BBC could get you in a world of hurt if people one day decide to start going after the downloaders in addition to the distributors.

is that why Top Gear is so easily found online? its ratings are many many times higher than F1. I wont tell you how to get it, but its there. if you love racing and good motor sports based programming you will do anything to get it. maybe speed will put it on, uh, oh, never mind.

I've seen Top Gear. It's easily found online because it's fanbase is so extremely dedicated that the BBC has actually gotten sick of trying to stop it's distribution(a decision that was helped significantly by it being a rare case where the evidence OVERWHELMINGLY proves it's distribution online is HELPING it's broadcast ratings). Don't expect the same for the F1 BBC broadcasts, though. Even if the BBC gives up, FOM won't.

For the record, a lightly edited("lightly" as in only edited enough for commercials to be fit in) form of the show is broadcast on BBC America as well.
