I've been going to Montreal for 20 years and I've never had any trouble getting Sect. 11. Just make sure you check their website frequently. I've never bought tickets from anywhere other than the official Grand Prix du Canada site. Forget Grand Prix
Tours...you pay double what you can get by booking hotel and tickets yourself.

Do they keep track of previous ticket buyers and allow them to renew their tickets before those that have never purchased tickets before?

I always like the idea of rewarding returning customers in that manner.

The Grand Prix du Canada site always did that. With the change in promoters, I hope that doesn't change. I want the same tickets I had in 2008.

Ticket ordering is open:
https://www.circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca/grandprix-en/

They are giving priority to 2008 ticket holders until Jan 15.

No, my first year was 1990. Most years I have sat in the Casino hairpin. Some years I had tickets in the Senna hairpin, but I like the Casino better...L'Epingle or whatever its proper name is.

if you have the 1989 CDN race on tape, approximately half way thru the race when the crash happened on the canal strait( towards the last chicane ) when the camera looks back towards the fast esses the stands as you come out onto the strait , on the far left half way ( top to bottom ) you'll see a bright yellow ferrari umbrella THAT'S ME !!!
and the best moments of that weekend were in the crossovers into the long hairpin the sound and the force of the cars ,,, it's goes right thru you , awesome ...... FOR EVER THE # 27.
