Don't be mad a Jimmie Johnson. Be mad at your team. Jimmie and the 48 team has this championship figured out. Maybe your team needs to take some lessons and realize this is a team sport!

I am mad at my team. They won the first 2 races of the year, and then the performance completely fell off from there. They've picked things up recently by "going back to basics", but they need to get deeper into this awful car to figure out how to get it to run well on the flat tracks.

Jimmy ranks sort of OK, kinda, maybe a bit OK. But you could put Krusty in the 48 and win 4 championships. Anyone who thinks Knaus hasn't found something is delusional. They coast all year and then win as they please. Suspicious? I think so.

J. don't let your favoritism towards Jimmie blind you to reality.

He will never get most of the records. Not possible today. 200 Wins, nope! Most starts, poles probably not likely. So they will remain The King's domain.

As for driving ability, he has a long way to go to get to Pearson, B. Allison, DW, and JG. Drivers who won at every kind of track on the circuit, did it with multiple teams, different crew chiefs, and did it over a 20+ year period. JJ has not won at Bristol or on a RC, as a couple of the others have (DW, BA, JG), he hasn't won driving through injuries (BA), or in a last minute replacement role with a strange team (DP), hasn't won driving his own less than par equipment (BA), hasn't won driving a odd ball car (BA/Matador), and will never get the chance to win on dirt as DP and BA did.

While what he is doing right now is impressive, and he will have the 4 in a row record after tomorrow, and he will be the driver of this decade, there is too many things he cannot do, hasn't done, or won't do to make him the greatest ever. That's either the greatest by records or the greatest pure driver. Top 5, yeah I could see it. Greatest ever? Just hype!!

As for your signature, has DW ever badmouthed anything about HMS? Not that I can remember. Everything HMS is swallowed whole by DW. His perogative but take it with a grain of salt. Remember he predicted that Jr. was gonna win 6 races last year.

And don't let your bias against this team blind you to reality.

Those greats will never win the Daytona 500, Brickyard, and Championship in the same year. They'll never win a championship under the Chase. They'll never win four in a row, back-to-back. Heck, there's only ever been one who was able to win three in a row.

As I stated in my previous post, he's only 8 years into his career. Come back five years from now and say that "greatest ever" is just "pure hype."

You'll be laughed at.

Hey I do have respect for what they have accomplished. They've been the team this decade. I said that. I agree. And, I don't really care for him that much but I can see when somebody is doing something impressive. I don't think they cheat like others do. Chad is just so detail orientated, makes the needed adjustments, calls the right race, and has such a keen connection with his obviouly talented driver, that that's why they have won 4 in a row. I can see that!

But, we are talking best EVER! You're right, none of them can win the 500, 400, and title in the same year. But, Jimmie can't win on dirt now can he? Why? No dirt, just as there was no Brickyard back then. He hasn't won on a RC and really seems to not be as good on them as others. No Bristol wins either. Yes, that could change in the next couple of years. But, so could a lot of other things too. Who says Chad won't get the offer of a life-time and bolt? Who says someone won't sweep in and hire the whole pit crew. Been done before; see Rainbow Warriors. And, the biggest thing, karma's gonna swing back around one of these days and all the breaks will go against him.

As for the drivers saying that, what do you expect them to say? He sucks? Sure, they're impressed. But, none of them ever raced against Pearson, BA, DW, Junior Johnson, Petty, Cale, Richmond, Ned Jarrett, or others in their primes so how do they know what they were like on track? It's so easy to say that what we see today is the greatest. It happens in every aspect of society. But, in most cases, it is wrong.

Anyway, as I said Congrats to your guy and his team on the 4 in a row.

BTW, I don't let my like/dislike of anyone EVER interfere in objective reality.

As far as rating the 4 time chump, he is a good driver, but as far as rating his crew chief, he is a genious. Chad is probably more due the credit for a lot of their accomplishments than JJ is.

After a 10 week media blitz culminating in a 7 day non stop propaganda push telling me what I am seeing is historic, I have to agree. I have never seen a reality show, or even a sport, hype something to this historic excess - ever.

When something is great it doesn't take repetitive reinforcement to get the point across. I'm not feeling it. JJ is an above average driver on a great team, without which he wouldn't be hoisting much more than a beer.

Hopefully nothing will be discovered in the future that negates their achievement.

You don't watch golf do you? Or watch ESPN in the days leading up to a bigger golf tournament? Trust me the adulation for Tiger Woods gets much worse than what happened this week. That's what makes Tiger so impressive. He can golf that well with everybody at ESPN and any other sports outlet hanging off his a#s by his lips. Tiger NEVER makes an excuse for losing. Too classy. But, the media digs deep and always tries to find an excuse for him. Sad really.
