Before he launched the USF1 team, Ken Anderson was better known within the inner sanctums of motor racing...

Too much song and dance. If you are in you are in, give us some proof.

One has to wonder how long it will be before the USF1 team will pull up stakes and relocate its effort to the U.K. They need to be closer to Cosworth since this is a return for them to F-1 after a long absence.

I'll get interested when USF1 is sitting on the grid in 2010. Anthing else before then is just talk.

The keyword here is skunkworks. I guessed that might be the model they were using in a post a month ago and I am glad to see they are. This explains why all the skepticism by the traditional F1 folks. If you have ever been in the skunkworks environment you will understand how they are going to accomplish being on the grid in 2010. The skunkworks model works well for high tech equipment requiring a short development time with a tight budget. It was good enough for the SR-71 Blackbird and the F117 Nighthawk so it ought to be good enough for F1. Can't wait to see the car!

Absolutely. North Carolina, from what I understand, is a fantastic place to start a company and have manufacturing... I know a few people who have relocated their companies near Charlotte in recent years. It would be financial suicide to move to Europe. In fact, I could see some of the European operations moving to the US, especially since the Euro remains strong, but probably only after a USGP returns, and perhaps a race in Mexico...

Help from the forum, please.
Would someone be kind enough to define what a "skunkworks" is, besides my immediate guess that it has something to do with smells? Seriously.
USF1 and it's supporters are using it as if it were the sole reason why they exist and why they will be successful. It seems to become the answer to everything that the established F1 community asks: Where's your car? Who are your drivers? When are you crash testing? Why is your website empty? etc etc. The answer: We'll... USF1 is a skunkworks, so you have to understand....
But I don't downer
Maybe my understanding of American English is what's causing the confusion, and I sincerely would like to understand what it means. So thanks to anyone who can explain.
