RR, you are doing ti again.
I explained what the discussion clearly was.
I then showed you exactly what the discussion was.
You were wrong. Just man up and admit it. I promise I'll leave it be if you just admit to being wrong.
Here is what you will never understand.
Racing is not about equipment or speed... it is about intent and commitment.
That video shows pretty plainly that those riders knew it was a charity event.
I am not surprised that someone who thinks a track day is a race does not understand the difference.

Oh really, are you in their heads now? You know how hard they were trying based on what, one video? Wow, you really are special.
Did it ever occur to you that a road-racer with all the intent and commitment he could possibly have to go race an MX bike as fast as possible might not look like Bubba Stewart on video?
You are such a joke it isn't even funny. You want to judge how hard they were trying when you weren't even close to being there? Based on a homemade video? You should limit your fantasies to Joe.
And, for the umpteenth time... people were talking about a best of the best race, then NDJerry used the words "fun race" and "meaningless race (no practical value)" at which point he changed the nature of the event to match EXACTLY what took place. Go ahead and read it Gary, it is plain to see... and I know you are capable of understanding it.

You have to read context as well, RR. Everyone other than possibly you was thinking more of a end of the season deal like the Imola 200 was in the olden days (until what, '85?).
I don't think that anyone would say that it would be impossible to do a charity event.

Me saying it is a "fun race" was to point out that it had no bearing on a championship and little worth to the people paying the bills of the riders.
Everybody on equal equipment?
Who gets the glory?
Not the people who pay the bills for sure.

I would agree that the risk is there any time one is on a motorcycle. Quite obviously the risk was not too high to keep the riders from participating. And the reason that risk was not too high is because this was not a competitive race, but a fun event with big names to raise money for charity.
Was each rider trying to win? Probably.
Were they trying to do so at the risk of screwing a multi-million dollar career into the ground? Probably not.
I wasn't there. I didn't even see any of it. But saying that Rossi crashed because he was trying to go fast is like saying that Stoner crashed on the warm-up for the same reason. Crashes are not ALWAYS the result of trying to go fast. Maybe Rossi WAS pushing really hard. Or maybe he just made a little mistake. Only he knows for sure.
And for the record RR, I think this race was probably MUCH more entertaining than dudes on mini-bikes.

Rossi may look slow, only because the video was shot at an extremely far distance. I bet you hands down, he would smoke anyone posting here on a MX bike.

There not too many people slower than I am in the dirt.
Hardly the point in this discussion.

It's a pretty safe bet that he would be faster than me on basically anything. No debate here.

He replied to you on Ekron's site - he plans on registering under a new name. We may both need blood pressure medicine...
Yeah, he hasn't changed - He gives me his complete, detailed schedule for whatever he's doing for the next 6 months. Like I really care.

Joe, A road racer on a dirt bike. I thought for sure you'd know a gimmicky race when you saw one.
