Very interesting article from Cavin... former Lola Chief designer Ben Bowlby (who now works for Ganassi) is designing the car. Looks like a cross between a sportscar and a motorcycle and several of the team owners support it, including Tony George. I believe this is the guy who designed the Lola CART chassis all through the 90s and until 2002 or so.

Sounds cool but also sounds like there might be a conflict of interest too. Won't Ganassi have a significant advantage over all other competitors if the car is designed by a team member and tested in the team's wind tunnel?

Good looks are something that are missing from modern race cars. I haven't bought a die-cast race car in YEARS.

I knew I saw the design somewhere. Here's a picture of the new car in actual race mode! Sorry for the bad quality but it was a secret test in a place called "Tron".

Very interesting interview with John Lewis where he talks about the new car on "Trackside"... apparently they have two other potential chassis manufacturers beyond Dallara and the "skunkworks" project internally. He says we may see the new car this year at an event.
