Almost depressing to read, but important none-the-less.
Here's another blast from the past.

Here's another oldie-but-goodie from the archives of my bookmarks.

MSMA's reaction to the arbitrary rules changes in WSBK. More specifically, the MSMA's reaction to the 1000cc formula and the elimination of the kits part rule--a move designed to require the manufacturers to run factory teams in WSBK, even though it makes no sense to have factory teams in a production series.
All relevant to today's troubles in the world of GP, WSBK, and national superbike series.

If your primary information source is superbike planet it may explain why we are so often in disagreement. This is especially true when it comes to any form of international racing, which that site views through red, white and blue glasses.

Am I the only one here who thinks 14 saying a link from 2003 was pulled from his archives is total BS?

Yes, winters, and you view the world in red, white and blue tinted glasses as well. I try to view it clearly, successful or not - but some of the one-sided crap posted by both Adams and winters is pretty embarrassing.
Honestly winters, I shudder when you post on foreign websites.

Why do you think I mentioned it so conspicuously?
I hope it made your skin crawl a little bit.
I actually do have an archive that goes back quite a ways, but the black thursday article was an accidental find.

I just assumed it was more bs.

Not skin crawling, just more vindication for my opinion of you and your posts.

I think I've mentioned that I dislike Dean Adams about 100 times. I used his site mainly to give a poignant example of the unreason that has taken over the AMA.
The initial rules proposal that was so well received by the fans was nearly universally rejected by the manufacturers. The series has been gutted not b/c of DMG, but b/c the OEMs had their budgets yanked due to the economic recession.
The series we see now is the result of the carnage of unrestricted and unreasonable total political warfare. Everyone is keen to scapegoat DMG, but the racing we see has nothing to do with DMG's proposal.
Furthermore, everyone in the AMA, from DMG to Ray Blank, wanted a global rulebook for the national series and they wanted it coordinated through the FIM. Unfortunately, it appears as though BSB may have taken the lead by introducing Evo.
Did you catch the part about Ray Blank wanting a lower state of tune than what was currently available in WSBK? Classic. That was back when he still had a properly functioning brand--err I mean brain.

That I'm engaged in low grade trolling?
If people aren't going to listen to reason, I may as well rake them over the coals a bit.
BTW the bookmarks archive is real, I've accumulated so many though, that I can't find what I'm looking for.
The Black Thursday article only reinforces my point that the manufacturers actually wanted out of SBK racing and that was why they pulled out of the AMA and wrote stricter kit part rules for WSBK. Direct participation by the OEMs doesn't make any sense, but the Flamminis didn't want to play second fiddle to MotoGP so they changed the rules so that the manufacturers would be required to participate directly in order to defend their brand identity. Ducati was their accomplice.

We have gathered by now what you opinion is. You have posted a minimum of 10,000 words. The vast majority disagree with you and you won't change our minds.
I have followed AMA reasonably closely since 1980, although i struggled this year because the series is a joke - and the funny thing is, 14, that your dream is to degrade the series another rung into an all privateer series - in other words, true club racing.
Your opinions oppose the views of most here. Deal with it.
