At Texas Motor Speedway the drivers were losing consciousness on the banking while doing Indy car testing years ago.
That seems like it would have had to be pretty damn fast.
I remember that fiasco. The g-forces experienced by the drivers were causing them to pass out.
The raw speed of the cars and the banking in the corners were the cause.
Can you imagine passing out doing 200 MPH on an oval? No runoffs there.
As an FYI, the 241 MPH record was set on a superspeedway with less degrees of banking, resulting in less G-forces imposed on the drivers.
