I don't understand why all the negative talk about Helio starting to get washed up. He won 2 races and would've been in the thick of the championship without missing a race and having his car fail him down the stretch.

Washed up? No. Underperforming, maybe. He's had 10 seasons with Penske and he's failed to win a championship. He's been outperformed by his teammate 7x in 10 years.

Because he's won the Indy 500. He'll likely retain his seat at Penske in 2011. It's reasonable to believe that he'll end up being outperformed by Briscoe and Power next season.

i hate to say this but.....who cares? penske is ALL ABOUT winning the 500. helio has done that 3 times. all of his teammates combined have 2 wins there. hornish and deferran. so it just depends on how you look at it. right?

You raise a valid point... Helio has performed well at the Brickyard, which surely pleases the team owner and (perhaps more importantly) the sponsors immensely...

I have to correct you on one small point however... Helio only won two 500's - the third rightfuly belongs to Paul Tracy...

PLN_FAN, the more sponsor and big ones was in reference of Verizon stepping up full time.The article posted was about the Title sponsor and how well they are doing.LOL.

But, Earl, you left that link to back up your point, not one about other sponsors. What you typed and what you linked to didn't match. It is traditional to post links that have something to do with your post.
