I always enjoyed this Kimi quote referring to rookies Scott Speed and Nico Rosberg from an 06 press conference:

Q: (David Croft – BBC Radio 5) We have some rookies this year. Is there any advice the three guys at the front can give them?

FA: I’m 24, so I don’t have extremely good experience. When I started in Formula One I just enjoyed it and concentrated on doing my job. It’s true there is lots of media attention. The cars are unfortunately so different from one to the other that you cannot find results very quickly.

KR: Hopefully they let us past if we’re behind.

How about Kimi walking to the yacht for a drink after his Mercedes engine blew up in the race at Monaco...LOL

You do know he is returning in 2011 right?

Didn't Mika Häkkinen take a 1 year sabbatical from F1? How many years has that been now? I wouldn't count on the "Cashman" returning.

Guess we won't see Kimi in NASCAR in his 1+ years off. They wouldn't want him. He doesn't smile enough and he wouldn't do a TV commercial where he has to play the obligatory male idiot.

I dunno, I could see him doing those Old Spice commercials, Tony Stewart style....

I think its going too far to say his career as a Formula One driver is over. He isn't the first man to have a sabbatical.

Just curious, what's the difference between what Kimi is doing and what the guy in your avatar did?

Just curious, when did the guy in my Avatar announce he was taking a 1 year sabbatical from F1?

So it's ok to go race elsewhere for good but not for a year? He didn't leave F1 voluntarily. Montoya did and he had every right to do so. Same as Kimi.
