Not Bonneville - a racing circuit, oval in this case. A track with finite dimensions rather than just wide open.
Poor descriptions...a course which is a continuous circuit, I guess that's what I'm looking for...

That's pretty much the definition of a "closed course" circuit. One that has a start/finish line, goes in a loop and is not accessible by the public. As opposed to "open course" circuits that are public roads blocked off for the occasion, like LeMans or Monaco. Though both of those could be called "closed" circuits as well. A hill climb track or special stage of a ralley is another kind of "open" course.
The ultimate "closed course" is the Nardò Ring in Italy's southern boot heel, not far from the Gulf of Taranto. It's a 7.8 mile-in-circumference (2.48 miles in diameter) circle.

Closed in a sense that it is a controlled setting, but it is not a circuit since you can't run contiguous laps. It's not a closed circuit.

Exactly. Indianapolis Motor Speedway, for example, is a "closed course" because after a lap of the place, you're back where you started. Santa Pod (in Podington, England was named after the 1950s strip in Santa Ana, California.) is an "open" course in that the starting line is at one end, the finished line at the other. In competition, you don't return to the starting line for the next lap; you have to take the return road, which is not part of the racing surface.

lawson and steve robinson teamed up in lights to completely dominate light's that season. his move to galles racing the next year was to a team with a weak engineering dept, a lola chassis which had a lack of downforce and a chevy engine which was not the preferred mill for the series that year. other drivers who replaced him faired worse then eddie. the "highly touted davey jones " failed to do as well. it had much more to do with the team and equipt choice then eddies talent. I was there.....
