What I find bothersome is the appearance of a double-standard. Why should Brian France get special treatment?
Besides the millions and millions and millions his family has brought to the local economy.
The first lesson they should teach kids in school is that life isn't fair.
edit: Perhaps he also made a donation to the Clinton library.

Politicians would rather have $10 from a criminal than $1 from a priest.

^ And I'd vote for a priest over any career politician.

By closing the court to the public and sealing the documents, it sends a strong signal of 'incriminating' evidence. Perhaps Brian does some stuff in his private life that many NASCAR fans might find disturbing or disgusting.
Don't blame me, HE is the one that paid the court to be quiet.
Its pretty obvious...when you want to seal something from the public you have something to hide. I wouldnt be surprised at all if it was something as extreme as money laundering with sponsors of nascar or being involved in some type of political corruption among contracts

But money laundering isn't as scandalous as a deviant perversion.

I guess to some that get aroused by that type of thing on this forum it isnt as scandalous however Im feeling pretty safe in assuming that its about money and not about some type of sadomasochism

it's not that the laws are any different for anyone.. it's that SOME can afford to hire lawyers to pursue every single law to its fullest extent.. whereas you and I... not so much
It's not even about the law here, though - it's about a judge's decision:
“They're here; they want to know what is going on,” Brian France's lawyer Kary Watson said, pointing to a reporter in the courtroom. “The big bad wolf is blowing at the door.”
But attorneys for Megan France argued the hearings should remain open.
“What I think they're trying to do is do something that is contrary to the law,” her attorney Russ Kornegay argued.
He said there's no evidence France would suffer irreparable damage if the hearings remain open, and that to proceed behind closed doors might create legal problems."
And this:
"The entire file, including the original complaint and the order from Judge Owens keeping the documents secret, has been sealed. An unsigned document contains just one paragraph: “The documents contained herein are confidential and under seal, and this envelope is not to be opened except upon further order of the court.”
Owens, who lost his bid for re-election in 2008, would not talk about the case or why he sealed it. But he said a judge must find compelling reasons to seal files to overcome the public's qualified right of access to court records.
It's not unusual for judges to seal some documents, such as sensitive records involving mental health and financial holdings. But court experts say it's extremely rare that an entire file, including a judge's order sealing it, is kept from the public."

“People ask me all the time, where does he stack up, comparatively? I’ve seen every great driver drive, I’ve seen every great driver win their championships. In my mind, this driver, this crew chief, this team is the all time best - bar none. I saw Petty, I saw Earnhardt, I’ve seen Gordon, I’ve seen Bill Elliott, Rusty Wallace, Terry Labonte, this is the best.”- DW on Jimmie Johnson

The extent to which the court has shielded BF makes things seem pretty bad, IMHO.
