This past Friday, AR Motorsport invited Star
Mazda driver and 2nd generation driver Conor
Daly for a test in the Hungaroring. This was
supposed to be a 2-day testing schedule. But
he had only 1. But he posted big.

In the morning session, Brazilian driver Cesar
Ramos top the time charts with a 1:38.287
followed by Swiss driver Nico Muller with a
1:38.685. Swede Philip Forsman posted the
3rd best time with a 1:38.692. And Daly posted
the 4th with a 1:38.867.

But in the afternoon session, the track was
fast and Mueller came with the best time
followed by Ramos, with Daly as the big
surprise with the 3rd best time.

Looks like Conor is trying to choose a suitable
series to ride in 2010.

Eight race schedule with (I think) 5 F1 circuits (don't follow F1 that closely anymore). 250 HP I4 in a Tatuus chassis. Wise choice? Don't know all the options,this is the first I've heard of this series...

Cool beans for Conor and he seems to be copying the Rossi route. If he can impress in Formula Masters the way Rossi did then I say his chances of finding a F3/GP2 or 3 ride is good.

The field is pretty much uncompetitive, and it seems to be full of rookies. If the team is good and if he really has the talent he's shown thus far, he should be able to win. Rossi had a bad team in the first part of the season, Leimer and Kral to deal with. I don't know if AR is bad, and there certainly isn't a Leimer in the group that I can see.
