Yes, but the Gran Turismo franchise has always made it into the Playstation greatest hits games. For it to recoup the development costs it would have to sell about 1 million copies, at 60 dollars a copy. The GT5 Prologue version has already sold about 3.94 million copies worldwide, so this is easily an anticipated game in the future.
