If I'm in my car and I look in my mirrors and see you coming up from behind, I'll purposely cut you off. I HATE all these harley clowns.
Joe, you seriously need to re-think that statement. Whether the pipes are loud or not, that is a person whose life you are putting at risk, who may have a family depending on them. While it's obnoxious and stupid to run loud pipes, it's not a capital offense. Aggressive driving is never justified.

Unless the SOB is driving 10 mph below the limit and accelerates for passing zones. Like what happens to me EVERY FREAKING DAY on the way to work...

This was really funny.
I HATE harleys!! I have often wondered how they get away with ear slitting volume when most medium loud cars would be pulled over in a heart beat. I even asked a traffic cop buddy and he said there was a definate hands off kind of thing with them.
Where I grab a coffee some afternoons there are a bunch of loser yuppie harley guys parked. When they get on the bikes they just rev the #### out of them. I have seem people jump out of their skin when they get going. I once spilt my coffee from the idiots.
I love loud engines like I love loud music , but there is a place for it. Living close to a highway I also get lots of fat biker ##### reving the #### out of crap. Drives me nuts

Cops like Harleys. That's probably the reason...

Quick story: There's this new rider, a girl lives down the street from me here in my development. She's a small thing, very timid in her riding style. I noticed when she first started riding she had a small Night Hawk. Wearing proper gear at all times. I thought, well thats cool.
A few months later, I see her riding by a 3-wheel Can Am Spyder. Brand new. Quiet, like a new car. I thought that's cool, different. Couple weeks after that, she's got loud pipes on it! Sounds like a Harley. Now there's no mistaking when she goes by - POTATO, POTATO, POTATO... Still the same small girl, proper gear. Looks kind of funny though, now.

Got that right... Generally, if a cop is a motorcyclist, he rides a LOUD H-D (err, a biker...). Seen very few on sport-cycles.

I know a few of the newer breed of motor officers who have really dug the Beemers. They like the speed, the handling, etc.

I hear ya Gary, but if the guy is in a Grey 1990 Lincoln Mark 7, then cut him some slack cause it is probably my brother (although he is a decent driver, so I doubt it). Other than that, have at it. The horn is a communication device above all else.
And it is true that the cops seem way more likely to give a guy a hard time on a sport bike. Although it should also be said that thinking back to past summers in the NY area, there were more than enough idiots on sport bikes as well, what with the crome Nazi helmets and what not. Just another group of A-holes making the rest of us look bad.

Well in that case, if the horn doesn't get through to them, there is always the finger.
