Look, none of us know the USF1 start-up plan. Ross has his way of doing things, Windsor another. Top make the timing they are probably taking bigger risks. As I stated before, the FEA will get them very close. The will prove out the FEA with actual crash tests. Are they skipping a step Brawn would not? Maybe. Probably. He said he was surprised, he didn't say USF1 wouldn't make the grid. If they have major changes to make, the risk would be considered huge. If not, everyone will shrug their shoulders and say "Guess we were wrong". You make the changes and move forward. The environment at USF1 and Brawn are surely different. Maybe Brawn has to perform actual tests early because of his lead times. Who knows. Maybe that is the only way he feels comfortable doing it because he got bitten badly once by crash testing too late in the game. Don't superimpose the Brawn system on USF1. I'm not gonna freak out unless they don't have the rolling chassis they said they would have this month!

I just hope we SEE the rolling chassis. If they say it's done without showing it, I'm gonna be rather skeptical. After all, getting the rolling chassis done by when they say they will is pretty much THE most important thing for proving they'll be able to make the grid. If they don't have a roller done by the end of this month, the chances of them being ready in time are slim.

I believe Ross Brawn's commemts have been totaly misrepresented, when he was told of USF1 not doing crash testing he merely stated that his team had been doing so for 2 months, and would believe that other teams should be doing the same. It was a comment.

According to Bruno Senna, Campos has already done major crash testing.

“The contract I have does not depend on taking sponsorship to the team,” the Paulista insisted. “Of the new teams, Campos' car is the most progressed. It has already passed the frontal and lateral crash tests, which are the most important ones.”
