Oh give me a break. Just because he had the nuts (stupidity?) to go fast around telephone poles and buildings?? Put him on a real track and the guy we're seeing right now would smoke him - Rossi. He would've even smoked him at the IOM, but he's too smart to race there.
Look at all the guys you list. Don't you guys see that it's just a matter of time before they crash an hit an unmovable object? Just because they've lucked out for a long time, doesn't make them a "legend".
Joe, You are an ignorant ****. If you have never heard of Joey or Robert Dunlop that tells me you have never left your room. Joey won 22 or 24 TTs and I'm not sure how many Robert won. Rossi hasn't won one yet. And I can guarantee that Rossi, Stoner or any of the current short circuit GP racers wouldn't touch Joey (or Robert) in the Island. Road racing is a different fish to short circuit racing.
Best to keep your mouth shut until your brain is in gear.
You're an ignorant ***. Of course I've heard of them. You think I was born yesterday old man? Does age give you some more appreciation or something? Any of the current GP racers would smoke the Dunflaps at the IOM.
Oh just because they're British, they MUST be good. That's the attitude you're taking.

Joe, You're doing it again. Mouth flappin', brain in neutral. Where did I write British? Your reference to the Dunlops as "the Dunflaps" confirms what I wrote earlier.

Of course, the flip side is that you take the typical world level closed circuit racer and put him on a true road course and he is going to get mauled mid pack as well.
beg to differ. Schwantz did a 1 off at monoco, i think, someone will correct me if that's the wrong track. he set the lap record on what, his second flyer and went out to destroty the field in the race. i have no idea if dunlop was there but i think the closed circuit guys are the cream and that's taking nothing from the road racers. they're a crazy bunch who get my respect but they're not gp champs.

It was more likely the Macau GP. It's somewhere in china but I don't think Hong Kong. Several AMA racers have gone over the years. Mostly, just under the factory level and i think it's invitation only.

RR, your mate Iannone isn't painting a pretty picture for future sponsors with his behaviour during the last half of the season........

The Macau GP is held in a Portuguese colony on mainland China called 'Macau'
And yeah, I think Schwantz raced there, although I had forgotten that.
