Ferrari is still pushing hard to arrange a third formula one car for Michael Schumacher to race in 2010...

This guy seems to think that he can do whatever he wants in F1 I totally agree with Sir Frank NO. Besides we already have plenty of German drivers on the roster.

Frank's statement is out of context. He has always said that there is "no way" he would approve a 3rd car, unless they were stipulated for young drivers only.He will continue to veto this for Michael.Without Williams..no way!

The rules state two car teams.

Very nice clarification of the Williams' stance. A third Ferrari for "The Mike" will be vetoed eternally by Williams. What will they do - throw them out of FOTA...again?

Stop the presses: I think I agree with Ferrari for once. Sort of. I see no harm in a third car if teams want to run one. The problem is that opens the door to NASCAResque mega-teams with 5 or 6 cars, and that would definitely be detrimental.

Why don't Ferrari just buy another team, it's not like they couldn't afford it. Renault, maybe? Then they could run 2 more cars, maybe put Kimi in the other one. If red Bull can do it, SF ceratinly can.

I know I wear it on my sleeve at times, but Williams to me is part of the foundation of F1. Fierce independence. Exists only to race. Been at the top, the bottom, and the middle, and yet dusts itself off and throws another punch. Great comments from Sam Michael about reuniting with Cosworth - I own a Cossie engineered street car (MB 190E 2.3 16) - about the ebb and flow of F1 and what will be archived as a manufacturer era - this decade. They came, and now most have left. The sport continues. There are so few links to the F1 that captivated me so many decades ago - Ferrari the ultimate constant. McLaren. Williams. The name Lotus returns, and I hope with the best of intent. It ain't Colin and Jim Clark...

As usual I agree with Sir Frank and of course I'd be glad to take it one step further. One way to alleviate the testing ban is to make it possible (and maybe mandatory) to run a Junior Car (coining another phrase) that would be required to pre-qualify on Friday for a limited number of grid slots. More drama, more qualifying, more testing and more opportunity. This is such a great idea that The Troll and Todt will either steal it or reject it. Since Sir Frank already proposed it he can't reject it. For his program, Sir Frank could offer this drive to the F2 Champ. This works on so many levels, I would love to see it. Oops, I'm a fan, won't happen. Thanks FIA. PS Nice call frarob, Williams is F1 history and they have been all of that and more. Williams cars are the beauties on the F1 Grid too.

I agree frarob, the rules say 2 cars. One cannot discount the contributions Sir Frank has made to the history of F1.

Sir Frank - or Pat or Sam - signed the papers like all others. That determines the course. Change without unanimity? Generally not part of a contract. The Concorde Agreement is simply that at the end of it all - a contract. One of the fundamental principles is that all parties agree to the stipulations. Two car teams. Nothing special for Ferrari or "The Mike." If he wants to drive in 2010, he can find a seat. There are some available.
