These guys get it:
Available in March 2010, IZOD has created a new “Winning Series” sportswear collection, inspired by the historic INDY 500 “Winning Car Series” including the first Indianapolis 500 winner, the 1911 Marmon Wasp, along with the 1939-40 Maserati and the 1948 Novi.

I'll reserve my support till this thing works out better than Northern Lights and Pepboys as title sponsors.
maybe that mindset is why they didn't work out....... just a thought.
After all the empty promises, steps backwards, and lying the few remaining original fans have put up with since the IRL's inception I am very gunshy of supporting such hype.

I'm really impressed with the stuff announcing the deal on the website as far as PDFs and images... looks very slick.

I'm glad IndyCar finally got a title sponsor but I don't see the average fan buying Izod clothing. $45 for a simple tee?

Well just think of it this way. Now the beer stands will serve PBR and Heineken.

Now THAT is sponsor activation!
I agree. Another New York City Times Square billboard!
Per Marketing Practice, New York City's Times Square draws 40 million annual unique visitors with more than 100 million photos taken there. The billboards in this location typically exceed six figures and do not include the cost of the sign itself.
IZOD has certainly done an excellent job with activation.
