i would categorize the kawasaki move as a poor career choice, considering his option was a gresini honda. knowing kwack's history in motogp, you simply do not in good conscience EVER choose a factory kawasaki over a satellite honda.

Point taken. After the season Hopkins had on that bike I certainly wouldn't have gone with Kawasaki. While the satellite RC212V was not the best of rides at least Honda has a history of success in GP's. Kawasaki had only 2 podiums to speak of in Moto GP to that point.


He was lucky he didn't get "The Biaggi" after saying that but I wouldn't say he was whining. Frustated would be the word I'd use. Not so different from Hopkins kicking his bike or Nicky angrily pounded his tank at PI. Still, a very unwise career move by Melandri.

Kawasaki was theoretically going to make a large investment in MotoGP. They offered both Melandri and Hopkins fat checks and looked like they were going to try to turn the program around. No one could predict that they were going to turn and run.

Neither the 'ho nor RR deserve any better than they get from me.

I am sure they feel the same.

The difference being is I am not going to make any excuses for it.
