Ok, ND, but do you think he WILL beat Toseland (or be generally faster after over the weekend, 1st session asside)? And do you think he SHOULD beat Toseland?
Why not he beat Toseland in all 3 of his MotoGP races last year on the Suzuki .

I'm not ND, but yes and yes. To begin with, Spies will have fresh engines, and Toseland seems (understandably) demoralized. I hope he can pull it together in SBK.

There is no reason not to beat Toseland. His championship position is meaningless. I would not be shocked if they are discussing whether or not he should beat Edwards, but if Dovi is running top 7 or so that is moot too.

^Agreed.

If he does not beat Toseland then a case could be made for it being a freakin disaster of a weekend. Plus, having to listen to RR for an entire off season could very well be unbearable.

Yeah Garry, the question was open to everyone.

And my answers are also both Yes.

As for Edwards... it depends which Colin shows up.

Some of his recent problems are down to very slow (and yet too fast for me) engines under the new rules, but as I mentioned previously they seem to have saved a fresh one for this round.

Check out this gaggle of riders. Colin is safely ahead of them, so no pressure to perform (which we know helps him a lot).

But some of those other guys might be pushing for bonus money. Melandri, for example, with no actual salary relies on nothing but prize money, and the dif between 7th and 13th might be a nice chunk of change. So Ben might find himself amongst some guys with something on the line.

Might be interesting to see how Edwards would respond if Spies was in front of him - he put in some great rides to catch Toseland!

So true Gary. At some rounds this year it looked like 6th gear for Colin was marked "use only in case you are behind JT"

Which is why he has never done more than he has in MotoGP.

You can not expext to compete with Rossi/Lorenzo/Stoner/Pedro (or any of the greats before them) if you do not bring it to the best of your ability every time you are on track.
