nonlpb, why the sad look on your puppy? He can't figure out how to ride the Ducati either! Have to admit he looks like a pouting Hayden

He's sad because he can't ride the Ducati (Stoner may be the true "alien") AND because he hears Gary in the kitchen...
Not all is lost, though - he IS the right size for the RC212V!

Well, it has to be said, that a few years ago a certain WSBK champ showed up and got on an unfamiliar bike and totally unfamiliar tires, and he won the race (quite comfortably as well). Ducati had the best package that weekend, and Yamaha will likely have the best this weekend.
But, that said, Danni was a maniac at Valencia last year, and I expect him to win again. I'd say Ben will be battling with the after Dovi and Edwards crowd, meaning it will be Ben, Elias, Kalio, Hayden, Capirossi, Depuniet, hopefully Melandri and maybe DeAngelis going at it for 5th or 6th (depending on how many of the front runners crash).
Hey Winters, do you remember when Melandri schooled Nicky at Valencia in 2005? Just wondering.
And is this simultaneously a "post your dog pic" thread? If yes:

Saying the Ducati and Bridgestones were totally unfamiliar to Bayliss is a stretch.
Regardless...
Spies 6th.

Considering that he had never ridden a MotoGP bike on Bridgestones previously (or any race bike for that matter), I'd say "unfamiliar" is the perfect word. And the bike, well it was by all accounts considerably different to the last one (Michelin shod) that he rode two years earlier. Again, "unfamiliar" is apropos.
And his goal for this weekend should be to beat a certain J Toseland.

I was thinking he had ridden the Bridgestones previously... that notwithstanding, the bike was not totally unfamiliar to him.
Also, competing in GPs for 3 seasons put him in a little different scenario than Spies is in this weekend.

Ok, ND, but do you think he WILL beat Toseland (or be generally faster after over the weekend, 1st session asside)? And do you think he SHOULD beat Toseland?
