Back when I used to watch the F1 races on Speedvision, there was NO reporting from the race itself. Basically all we had was the commentary team yakkin away, describing what we all saw on the same screen. Except maybe they had access to live timing.
My assumption is that we will have NO pitlane reporting or reporting from the race at all.
As a speedtv/F1 viewer I like the pit lane interviews, the ability to get to a driver after an incident, and any other coverage like pit lane coverage, that I as a viewer want to see and hear. Not replacing windsor would be a shame and a loss of what little on the spot reporting there is from an in depth F1 race.

The announcement was, I believe, made last week - or at least implied. F1 will be back on Speed next season.

I like James Allen, for the record.

I really liked the interviews that Peter conducted and 2010 should have another person doing the same. It's too bad, for sure the grid walk won't be the same if there even is one. Since Peter has been involved with the F1 community for so long people didn't mind him walking up and interupting at any time. I think the drivers, crews, etc. should be more accomodating since the TV viewers are the only reason they are there in the first place.

Peter was the best part of the prerace show. Without the grid walk it would be so boring. I find his sense of humor and wit to be very enjoyable, especialyl when he would start talking about Jean Michelle (who I believe was his camera man). If they get someone it will have to be someone connected to F1 Paddock, an unknown won't get the interviews Peter would.
