Dayton Speedway closed in 1982, but the memories live on at http://www.daytonspeedwaylives.com
The track was a high banked 1/2 mile similar to Winchester and Salem and was in operation from the 30's up through the 80's. ARCA sanctioned many races there including the grueling Dayton 500 and USAC sanctioned many as well for the Sprint Cars plus a Championship Car event in 1956.
Here is the inaugural Hall of Fame class of 2009. They will be honored Sunday Nov. 1 at the historic Baum Opera House in Miamisburg, Ohio.
