14, either you are thoroughly confused about 'satellite bikes' in prototype racing and 'privateers' in production based racing, or you are making things up.

The bikes can be modified - with Honda's permission.

GP has satellite bikes - no other series does. 14 is, as usual, creating his own definitions.

Sorry, Gary, gotta call you on that one.
Here's a quote from a Kawasaki document describing the roadrace program of Attack Racing from two years ago (http://www.kawasaki.com/Content/pdfs/insideTeamGreen/ITG-0702-Pages-12-21.pdf):

Kawasaki’s factory road racing effort will be supplemented by the Attack Performance Kawasaki satellite team in the 2007 AMA Supersport and Formula Xtreme seasons. Featuring riders Ben Attard and Steve Rapp, the Richard Stanboli managed squad will race all-new Kawasaki Ninja® ZX™-6R sportbikes on Pirelli tires.

Ahhh, those were the days...

Granted, Attack is now out of business as a satellite team for Kawi in "AMA Pro Racing", but the term 'satellite' is not exclusive to MotoGP.

ridenm, I think gary was giving won4 the business. won4 is the one who doesn't believe the AMA has satellite teams even after I posted a press release from Suzuki listing their satellite teams for 08. Anyone who knows motorcycle road racing, knows that all the majors have satellite teams and have had them for years.

No, I've never heard the term 'satellite team' used for ateam that produces it's own bike and receives financial support from the factory.

I would guess they are using that term because GP does and it sounds cooler. They have been called support teams for year.

As far as the British Evo class, 14 seems to imply that they would be cheap. The completed bike would cost more than an AMA 'American Superbike'. There is a fair chance the forks alone would xost more than an 'American superbike'. They are not stock - only the motors are.
