I was at NHRA Raceday yesterday and had to take a picture of this. Did it make it to the broadcast? By the way, I agree with the sign. Worst music ever. Sell-out. Instead of getting me pumped up for some drag racing like the hard rock of last year, I find myself angry and wanting to punch the television.

As the season winds down, I assume so does the year of hearing that crap. Take heart, as there are just two more races, and next year we will get an entirely new song... and by this time next year there will be people sick enough of it to post a thread saying so.

Yeah, I have always hated the song too. I think it will follow slightly into next season, but only for a few races. They usually have a new intro song and video by then.
It wasn't bad this race, but I wish they would stop making such a big deal about Force and Tony Pedregon. Big deal, they hate each other. I know. Al Hofmann made a better rival though.

I hated that crap, too... Further "Nascarization" of our sports (AMA Motorcycle roadracing has also been Nas-scarred). I hated that I had to have the remote's mute button at-the-ready during this year's NHRA shows.
Now if they would just get rid of Rieff and Page...

Reiff is a good guy. I met him in the Denver Airport when we were flying to Ontario/Pomona last year. We actually talked for a while and he filled me in some of the inside scoop. Especially his thoughts on Whit Bazemore getting canned. Trust me, he was saying stuff they wouldn't say on TV.

No doubt that Reiff's knowledgeable, it's his schtick that makes me sick. I'd like to see Bob Frey in his position, but he's such a Sportsman-maven they'd never move him.

I hated the song the first time I heard it! I believe it was ESPN who "designated" this as NHRA's theme song this year. It sounds too much like country music, and to me, drag racing was always a rock & roll sport. Leave the country and rap music to NASCAR, where it belongs!!
