Since the WTCC, Aussie V8s, and BTCC have better racing than can be found in the US, NOT having them on TV is a total flop.
Are you kidding? WTCC is boring.

WTCC is ok there is some good racing here and there. BTCC and V8's are a lot better in my opinion. The Final 3 races in the BTCC at Brands was amazing!
Here is a video of the first of 3 races in the weekend

Any series can look good if you just watch the highlights. In general I find it pretty boring. Lame cars and the racing is nothing special. BTCC has basically the same cars but manages to be much more fun to watch, IMO.

It would only happen in '11 with a TV deal on SPEED, and someone like Ford becoming a factory team in the series. But the danger is America's idea of touring car racing is NASCAR.

I agree that BTCC is better than WTCC, and V8 Supercars are far superior to either one in my opinion. But to say that WTCC is boring? Based on what, the time elapsed versions SPEED used to show? I've seen some in their entirety via "not quite legal yet not quite illegal" means on the 'net, and it's much different watching the whole race. Same goes for Porsche Supercup. Two races crammed into a half hour show just doesn't quite tell the whole story.

Based on watching full races (you are not the only one who has the incredible technical know-how required to download things from the Internet). They have their moments but I don't think they are worth seeking out anymore. And I definitely don't think it is better racing than what can be found in the US, as you said.

I haven't seen anything other than the highlights posted on YouTube since about the middle of last year, when there seemed to be an imminent crackdown on torrents, as I like racing, very very much, but still not enough to serve time/pay fines for watching it. What has changed? Mfgs pull out? Teams disappear? Car count drop?

I don't know that much changed. I just got bored with it. Though the TDI Seats have a power advantage so they are about impossible to pass, even when they are turning slower laptimes.
