I'm really into this race & am looking for the best 24 version of this race, any platform. I'd like a day/night sequence, weather & a decent sized grid. I have the old PS2 Le Mans 24 & it is pretty good but dated. I have GT4 but after almost 300 days I still cannot do more than a 2 lap race, which is a waste of my time.
Any advise on where to look for another version of this race?

Forza3 has the track an is coming on the 360 on the 27th of this month. There will be no day/night sequence an unsure if there will be a 24 hour race on it but there will be atleast a 1hour race on it.

I believe GRID has a LeMans race with day/night sequence. It can be condensed into a 24 minute race.

GRID allows for a bunch of different lengths from 24 minutes to 24 hours and has LMP1 LMP2 GT1 and GT2 classes

Grids lack of adjustable setup an good physics was a big let down for me.

N2003 with mods and day/night versions of the circuit are my favorites. Maybe just because I'm familiar with the physics engine and all.

Rfactor does all of that except changing weather. You can run a race with all types of cars mixed in. I have ran a couple of times a mixed race with LMP's vs. Daytona prototypes vs. Nascar stock cars Vs. touring cars. It was a 12 hour race on the daytona road course and was a blast. The one negative with rfactor is unless you have a perfect setup and are incredibly fast in a long race your AI codriver will be at least 3 to 5 seconds faster than you per lap. So if you want to run against AI and have it be anywhere near competitive you have to drive the whole race yourself or set the AI to run somewhere in between you and your AI co driver. So when you are driving you'll be losing ground and when the AI is driving you'll gain ground.

I have to agree. The Redline GTP mod with the available addons/patches is my favorite. There's an oldie out there called LeMans 24 Hour by Infograms that was fun as well, if you can find it. The Panoz front engined GTP was a hoot to drive.

I'll second that. ISI the creators of rFactor developed the gMotor Race Sim engine thats basically used by all the top Race Sims.
Our summer league ran LeMans with the ILMS 2.77 mod, awesome racing. We set the time factor to 12X and ran a 2 hour race. Normally we race for 40 minutes.
