No race in the UK :(
Also been some rumors going around that Ferrari are about to withdraw its supply of engine's for undisclosed reasons. A1GP officials have denied these reports & insist the next season will go ahead as planned with Ferrari engine's.
Also hearing that Team New Zealand have withdrawn from this years series.

No race in UK?! I'm surprised because I felt the Brands Hatch race was one of the most successful ones. At least they have something up but then again they also did last year and many of the races were canceled. As long as F1 is there other open wheel series well struggle to make it on a worldwide scale.

I would be very suprised if A1GP even holds a race at Surfers Paradise after reading this.

No wonder there is no race in the UK this year. If they manage to get the cars release, they probably won't want to visit the UK round for fear that their equipment can get locked up in the bankruptcy proceedings.

The UK round was one of the few races on the calendar that had good attendance. Netherlands is the other round that had tons of fans as well. Other than that, most of the rounds were sparsely attended.

I believe Brands was sold out each year they ran there while Zandvoort was pretty close to been sold out each year.
With the V8 Supercars there, Surfer's Paradise is likely to be close to a sell-out & I woudn't be too surprised if Brazil gets a reasonably decent crowd.
Going on past years Id be surprised if the other events are anywhere close to been sold out.
Its unfortunate as a lot of the tracks they race at are pretty good & the racing is also usually pretty good.
I think one of the biggest problems has been that A1GP has never really done a good job at promoting itself, unless your a fan that pays attention to the series you woudn't know it exist's, who's racing or where & when they race.

A little OT: Does anyone know if they are going to release a 2008-2009 DVD set?

Hey everyone. Here's the story on Brands Hatch: They didn't want to be a part of the schedule. Because of the doubts of the series future, they felt they didn't want to be involved in the series and could possibly fall through. The good news is they want back in for Season 6 in 2010-2011.
