Alexander Rossi season began with somber
results with Hi-Tech Racing until he lost his
ride only then team ISR resurrected his
season with huge results. Today, he has shown
his values with his 3rd sprint win at Imola
where he becomes 2009 IFM top rookie finishing
4th in the standings.

CONGRATULATIONS ALEXANDER ROSSI - 2009 INTERNATIONAL FORMULA MASTER
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

BEST OF LUCK IN 2010.

Heck, I don't know how many of you got to see the race but boy, that was some pretty tip top road racing.. Fabulous stuff!

*Rossi now gets an Indy Lights test with SSM for securing the ROTY title. As well as the Williams F1 test gig for winning the FBMW World final. Busy off season ahead cool smirk

I'm torn about Rossi. There's no doubt this kid would like nothing better then to climb up the European ladder and enter F1 but then again I would like to see how he does in Indy Lights. I'm sure Rossi well be looking for some F3 action somewhere. I really do hope at least US F1 well support his European ladder climb if he doesn't come to Lights.

How doe Formula Masters rank on the European scale anyways? Somewhere between Formula Renault and Euro F3? Just under British F3?

I rather see Alex do another season in Formula Master.

It will be best if he stays in the same series, then he has
a great chance to enter GP2.

Jumping into another series might be bad.

Look what happened to Charlie Kimball. After being runner-up
in the British F3 series in 2005, CK drove miserably with
only 1 sprint win and 2 runner-up spots in the F3 Euro Series.

That is why he is back in the states.

I heard Rossi has a GP2 test this year along with his F1 test. Heard it from Varsha during the F1 race the past weekend.

I know Alex is due to test in a GP2 car, but I don't think that's where he's heading next season. GP3 is possibly another more likely option.

*uh, Placid, yeah Sauber! d'uh me LOL

I don't know how Formula Masters ranks but I do believe it use to be called F3000 a few years back which is significant because F3000 use to be the logical stepping stone to F1 before F3 and GP2 got in the picture. I feel GP3 (is this series really on along with F2?) would be the next logical step for Rossi but GP2 wouldn't be bad either. Spend a couple of years in GP2 and hopefully he'll do well.

Formula Master is not really very close to F3000, which was really more like a GP2 car. The Formula Master car has about 250hp, the F3000 was closer to 500hp. GP2 has about 580. The GP2 testing will hopefully prepare Alexander for dealing with the high horsepower F1 car.

Rossi did pretty well today in Abu Dhabi. I only wish we could get the GP2 Asia series on Speed. If he can win there, he could qualify for a superlicense, could he not? Does he have a full season ride with Ocean Tech?
