Another huge break for JR Hildebrand has caused
to close in on the Indy Lights title after his
teammate Sebastian Saavedra was forced to
changes engines. As a result, Hildebrand has
taken his 4th race win in the final road race
of the season.

A 13th place finish or better will give him
the Indy Lights title.

Ken, Peter: Sign him up!!!!!!

If JR isn't somehow connected with US F1 next year I hope he doesn't get hosed in Indycar for a Frenchman named Franck.

JR was being groomed to replace Danica next season. That's not going to happen now, it appears, unless Mutoh leaves. However, AGR will need funding to run JR in Indy Car, if it is meant to be.

JR may be one of the USF1 selections along with Edwards. I initially thought Summerton would get the call, but Edwards has outperformed him this season in Atlantics.

JR may also land with DRR, Panther, or Dale Coyne Racing [if Justin Wilson leaves] among other possibilities.

Hasn't Summerton driven for two different teams this year?

That's where the AFS sponsorship seen on Franck's car this weekend plays in. It seems that AFS is pretty serious about sponsoring a full time ride next year and since AFS has been on JR's car all year it makes sense they both well go to Indycars together. That's why I'm somewhat weary of Franck and how much he's tied into this AFS deal. Hopefully Andretti won't screw over JR for Franck if Mutoh or more like his sponsorship Formula Dreams jumps ship.

The point spread the top 3 spots in Atlantics is very close and Edwards and Summerton are just 8 points apart from each other. Both Edwards and Summerton are great young drivers but I think Summerton has the edge.

Summerton has competed internationally and has actually won and done somewhat well against some stiff competition. Edwards though he also has some European experience hasn't risen to the ranks of Euro F3 or even A1GP which Summerton has both experienced. This in itself give Summerton the edge but what do I know I'm not a team owner or principal. raspberry

If either Summerton, JR, or Edward were to take part in something like GP2 for Team US F1, I would even like that.

I will get dissapointed if JR gets a part-time role in
Indycar in 2010. It will be best if Ken and Peter can
pick him up. We shall see how he will perform this
A1GP season.

I thought APPRO was on JR's car with AFS on Saavedra's?

JME's 2006 Formula Renault field was more competitive than Summerton's F3 field. Buemi, Hartley, Mustonen, Alberquerque, Van Der Drift, and Maasen.
