ok, after listening to knoxville (thanks Hoseheads radio!), I feel I need to post this. The answer to fix the racing at knoxville and let the best "driver" win is to run spec tires at least on the left and right rear. Make the tires a bit narrower and harder than hell, then horsepower wont matter nearly as much. The drivers like schitz wont like it but its a knoxville deal not an outlaw deal. Remember when drivers could actually come from the c or d main? Not any more Think about it, what actually puts on a better show, an elbows up deal like the Gold Cup or a horsepower deal like knoxville? I've been around sprint cars a very, very long time and its been a long time since I've seen a really good race at knoxville, maybe not since Wolfgang ran it...

Three wide for the lead with about ten to go? Doesn't sound like anything needs fixing to me... except perhaps Schatz getting "right reared" a little more often and some better back-up plan to maybe actually show the race when rain postpones it.

I agree with Lovey-Dovey Three wide for a lead is great the tire idea is an ok idea but Knoxville runs it, the only issue is the rain delays, but they lost that track due to rain. Gold Cup and the Nationals are 2 different events, one has 2 nights and the National are 4,the only changes in the Gold Cup is an Instant In to the A-Main for the top 4 on friday night, where as knoxville has a point's system and a night for one last shot to get into the saturday show and get more points to advance to either the E,D,C,B Main. I don't think the issue is the tire I think it is the points system but if you get rid of the points then you have chaos cause they would have nothing to keep who would make the A-Main on saturday.

yes we do need a tire rule, harder and narrower tires, left and right. Here is something for you to think about. How many of you think Steve Kinser is still one hell of a driver? Yet where did he finish??? Exactly...He should be right up front duking it out, but he was playing follow the leader like so many out there. No, it wasnt the set up and he didnt get out driven, just like, Stevie, Kaeding, Kraig Kinser. When its a motor/tire deal shatz (tonys unlimited budget) will win everytime. Why? because with the tires they run all you need is some good bite and you just hold it to the floor. Still dont think so??? Well I've got 2 dvds of the outlaws on a couple bullrings and shatz got lapped!, why, because it was a driver deal, not a motor/tire deal. Please, think about it guys.
